vaccines

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2026/feb/01/vaccine-recommendations-acip

From the source:

“All vaccine recommendations are being reconsidered by the US’s vaccines committee, according to its top adviser, who in recent interviews slammed vaccination requirements for attending school and said vaccines should be taken on the advice of an individual’s doctor.

The stance from Kirk Milhoan, chair of the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP), represents a dramatic departure for the group tasked with making US vaccine recommendations for decades, signaling an increasingly hostile approach from the Trump administration to routine vaccines.”

Commentary:

This is complete garbage. Kirk Milhoan is wildly disconnected from what “advice from a doctor” means for most individuals. For most Americans that means no advice at all. The majority of Americans are not taking routine trips to the doctor, and the majority doctors are not taking the time to give individual advice. Healthcare is churn and burn for the common man. Lets not break the current system of vaccinations (in schools, or elsewhere) until a better system is in place. Individual freedoms are of crucial importance, yes, but if you give people a choice they will make the wrong decision every time.

comment system

It’s strange to feel excited about working on implementation of a comment function on a website with no visitors and no substantive content to comment on. Yet here I am, excited.

news site

I’ve been working on a news aggregation website. https://news.fcc.cc/

It’s coming along well. My only true aim is to make something that I can enjoy without ads. Though maybe others will find it useful.

Python with ChatGPT

ChatGPT truly is a wonder for people like myself with 0%-2% programming knowledge, but an occasional desire to actually create something. Unfortunately maintaining it is difficult. I copy and paste for hours until the code is soggy spaghetti, hoping I didn’t fall into a hallucinated AI rabbit hole.

Thankfully, ChatGPT is also quite forgiving of my cursing if that does happen. :D

AI Tools

ChatGPT 5.2 is amazing and a great help when working on websites, but it’s so unpredictable. Once you feed it too much data, it takes a sharp turn toward uselessness.
